Theatre I :
​Intro to Theatre

Pre-requisite: None
This is a class for students who want to act onstage. They will be expected to perform in front of each other weekly with a public performance at the end of the year. They are also expected to audition for and see one show each semester.

Theatre 2, 3, & 4: Advanced Acting

 Pre-requisite: Theatre 1 and/or Teacher 
Approval 


 Students who have not taken Theatre 1, but  have participated in shows can take  Advanced Theatre with Teacher Approval. Advanced Theatre Students are expected to audition for all after-school theatre productions.

Technical Theatre 1:
​Intro to Tech

Pre-requisite: None

Class for students who want to build and design sets, lights, sound, costumes, make-up, and graphics for Theatre. Students will be in the shop working with tools and paint.  Lastly, Students will be expected to see and critique a show each semester.

​Technical Theatre 2, 3, 4:
​Advanced Technical Theatre.

Pre-requisite: Technical Theatre 1 
and/or Teacher Approval


Students who have not taken Technical Theatre 1, but have participated in a show after school can take Advanced Technical Theatre with Teacher Approval. Advanced Technical Theatre students are expected to tech for after-school theatre productions as well as compete in the UIL Theatrical Design Contest.

 
Fee: $50 yearly

Dual Credit Theatre: College Level Theatre
​(DRAM 1310 & DRAM 1351)

Pre-requisite: Passing TSI Reading and Writing 

DRAM 1310 is designed for students to recieve .5 of their fine arts credit at GCM and 3 hours of college fine arts credit. In this class, you will read and analyze plays and productions through discussions in class.  We will explore how the theatre has come to both shape and reflect moments in the history. Students will read plays, attend plays, write about plays, perform an acting scene, and collaborate on a final project that integrates the key concepts from the course.

Fee: $50
(One Time Dual Credit Fee)

Theatre Production:
7th (Varsity) 4th (JV) Period 

Pre-requisite: Audition for Teacher Approval
 Students must audition and be accepted in order to be scheduled for the class. Students interested in auditioning must talk to a theatre teacher so that we can arrange for a time for you to audition. Students in theatre production are expected to participate in the productions afterschool.
Fee: $25
