thespian information
Thespian Troupe 8123 is a chartered organization under the International Thespian Society, which recognizes excellence in high school theatre. In order to be invited to the troupe, students must earn at least 10 points by participating in theatre in and outside of MTC and maintain a passing GPA. After becoming a member, students have the opportunity to participate in events such as the Texas Thespian Festival and qualify to apply for college scholarships and auditions through the Thespian Society. Inductions happen at the end of every school year.

Thespian Troupe 8132 attends the Texas Thespian Festival each year. This year, the South Texas festival will be held in Corpus Christi from November 15th-18th. Students can participate in a variety of experiences, including national-qualifying competitions, improvisation battles, technical theatre competitions, workshops presented by industry professionals, and watching shows performed by students from around the state of Texas. The cost of the festival varies, but is paid for both by the students and the fundraising efforts put forth in the fall semester.
